Natural Resources

A significant amount of natural resources such as lands, waters, biodiversity, ecosystem services etc. are all part of an agricultural system. Modern agriculture significantly affects the state and sustainable exploitation of natural resources being a major factor for environmental degradation such as pollution, destruction, and extortion. In this book, the authors present current research in the study of conservation strategies, globalisation and politics and sustainable uses of natural resources. Topics discussed in this compilation include management strategies for conservation of natural resources in agriculture; implications of existing benefit sharing mechanisms of Ghana''s National Strategy on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+); Australian resources sector under a low carbon policy; governance for sustainable reconstruction after disasters: lessons from Bam; a case study along the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia of public participation in fisheries governance and management in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS); and the battle for control of global crude oil markets: OPEC and the seven sisters.
