Andreas Spechtl , (of legendary Austrian discourse rock band Ja, Panik) who is living between Berlin and Córdoba, Argentinia) has formed a new band! He has teamed up with the Austrian author and playwright Thomas Köck, Austrian-Malaysian improv and jazz drummer Katharina Ernst, and Finnish saxophonist and keyboardist Annea Lounatvori (who most recently performed on stage with Ja, Panik) to form the new group WEIRD & EERIE. The band emerged from a ghostly theater production in Weimar, Germany, in August 2024, titled after Mark Fisher’s book “The Weird & The Eerie.” In July, they will release their debut album “Folksongs from the www,” a soundtrack to digital hauntology.
