The album includes standout tracks from the season, including the unforgettable opening sequence anthem, “Oh Lord” by Foxy Shazam. James Gunn shared his enthusiasm for the project: “It’s probably my favorite soundtrack ever. A lot of the type of music we put on the show people think of as cheesy… and the character is a little cheesy, he’s a numbskull, but below the surface there’s something beautiful, and that’s true about the music as well.” With its bold mix of high-energy anthems and unexpected deep cuts, the Peacemaker: Season 2 Soundtrack continues the tradition of music playing a central role in Gunn’s storytelling.
